More Meth at the Mall
One week after “Death Stalks the Bayshore Mall“
From the Eureka Police Dept:
On 06/07/12, at about 12:30 PM, the Eureka Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP) served a search warrant at a motor home parked on a property off Bayshore Way, Eureka (1200 block of Bayshore Way adjacent to the mall). The warrant was in response to information EPD had received that the resident, Abbie Lynn Keafer (AKA Abbie Wertz), was selling methamphetamine.
Keafer was detained outside her motor home. During a subsequent search of her person, investigators located two baggies of methamphetamine concealed under her clothing. The baggies contained a total of approximately 7 grams (1/4 ounce) of crystal meth.
During a search of Keafer’s motor home, investigators found further evidence of drug sales activity including gram scale parts, pay and owe sheets, drug sales packaging materials and approximately 218 grams (7 ½ ounces) of processed marijuana packaged for sale in 10 separate bags. Investigators also located drug use paraphernalia (pipes, hypodermic needles, cookers etc.), a small quantity of concentrated cannabis, and several live rounds of .38 caliber pistol ammunition. Keafer was prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition as a convicted felon.
Investigators also discovered Keafer’s motor home was outfitted with external security cameras covering the approach to her residence.
Keafer (55 of Eureka) was arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where she was booked for possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of concentrated cannabis, maintaining a space for drug sales, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.
